General Manager - Finance and Commercial
This global logistics leader is seeking an experienced Finance professional who can provide financial leadership for the New Zealand business and contribute to the growth and transformation of the business.

The GM – Finance and Commercial leads a team of 20 people and has a duel reporting line - to the Executive GM Finance & Commercial in Australia and to the New Zealand Executive GM. They are responsible for the financial leadership of the New Zealand business as well as being an important member of the NZ Leadership Team and contributing to the strategic direction and growth of the business.

This is an exciting phase in the NZ business with new infrastructure in place and the business positioned well for growth. The GM – Finance and Commercial will lead the transformation of the Finance function with the implementation of a new ERP system and outsourcing of transactional functions. They will also develop a more centralised structure and develop financial information that supports the business.

Candidates will have experience leading the finance team in a large and complex business and have a passion for developing processes, systems and people.

The successful candidate will have the following experience and attributes:

  • Successful track record in a senior finance role of a large business with offshore reporting requirements
  • Experience leading transformational change including:
    • Significant improvements to data and processes
    • Implementing an ERP system (with Oracle experience an advantage)
    • Transitioning to, and working with, a 3rd party outsource provider
  • Evidence of a coaching leadership style growing the capability of Finance professionals
  • Strong commercial acumen including the ability to develop robust business cases
  • Experience working with external auditors
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills with the gravitas to influence and engage broadly
  • Professionally qualified accountant with evidence of continuous professional development
