One of NZ’s largest infrastructure intensive government organisations seek an experienced and commercially astute AM FM leader who can deliver services across a nationwide complex asset portfolio.

The National Manager Facilities Delivery is a critical leadership role with an increasing focus on optimising spend and utility across the network. This will be achieved through a strategic approach and working in partnership with other parts of the Asset Management team which this role is a key part of. These partnerships will jointly develop strategic asset planning and asset management plans. A key part of this roles success for the organisation will be engaging effectively with the significant AM/FM outsource service provider. This role will be responsible for developing productive senior relationships with this provider for the continued success of the contract.

Both superb commercial skills and experience, as well as effective people leadership skills are essential to be effective in this role. This role and team are highly visible and engage directly with site operations as an essential component of operational effectiveness in an environment which has critical asset availability demands.

Candidates will need to have the following skills and attributes:

  • Experience in a national facilities maintenance role for a complex asset base
  • Technical knowledge that demonstrates credibility across a broad range of maintenance services
  • An authentic leader who is supportive and has a track record of developing team capability
  • Commercial expertise including the ability to engage with external service providers and manage supplier relationships for mutual benefit
  • Well-developed communication skills with a wide-range of stakeholders
  • Demonstrated skills in linking strategic asset planning and management with tactical FM
  • An appropriate professional qualification

Technology People Leader
The NZ Defence Force is seeking an experienced leader who can guide a large and complex ICT function though a period of significant change.

Reporting to the CIO, the Enterprise Products & Services (EPS) Portfolio Director leads a large team of approximately 160 technology professionals. This team is responsible for the strategic direction, maintenance, and continuous improvement of NZDF technology including end user technologies, platforms, infrastructure and deployable capabilities. NZDF uses a range of satellite and terrestrial systems to support more than 14,000 personnel, as well as core systems to support logistics, human resources, and finance.

Candidates will be experienced infrastructure professionals with a track record of leading large teams in a complex environment. Collaborative by nature, they will have the ability to communicate complex information at the appropriate level of detail to facilitate decision-making.

Candidates will need to have the following skills and attributes:

  • Authentic and experienced people leadership of large operational teams
  • In-depth understanding of IT infrastructure in an environment with multi-national deployed resources
  • A successful track record managing change in a complex environment
  • Commercial acumen including experience negotiating with, establishing, and managing IT vendors in an outsourced environment
  • Ability to build clarity and deliver outcomes despite ambiguity and complexity
  • Politically aware
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, able to build trust
  • Naturally collaborative
  • Experience of Agile is desirable
  • Tertiary qualified with evidence of on-going investment in personal development
  • Capable of achieving TSSV security clearance

You will be intellectually agile with the ability to deal calmly with multiple competing priorities. You will be able to communicate and deliver on a clear vision and be passionate about the role ICT must play to deliver value to the organisation.
