Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the GM Supply Chain will have responsibility for the end-to-end supply chain including all freight and logistics functions (inbound, warehousing, outbound operations, and inventory management), as well as developing and leading the integrated planning function.

Our client is planning a significant transformation programme that will touch all parts of the supply chain function, particularly integrated planning, inventory performance, and the freight and logistics network, which will include establishing the right network over time to support the business’s strategy. The GM Supply Chain will have a central role in driving these changes. This will entail working across the business and require working effectively with stakeholders, including other members of the exec team, and CEO.

Candidates will need to be experienced supply chain professionals across all functions from forecasting/planning to warehousing and distribution. They will have a track record of delivering change, developing the capability of their team, and influencing stakeholders across the business. They will be able to work with and draw on the resources and knowledge of outside consultants as well as articulate a vision at all levels, including the Board.

Candidates should have the following skills and experience:

Supply Planning Manager

Reporting to the GM Supply Chain, the Supply Planning Manager is responsible for planning product supply to meet the demand plan and for planning and maintaining inventory levels. This includes planning manufacturing across multiple sites as well as an extensive finished product range. They will lead a team of Supply, Production and Inventory Planners to develop and maintain planning processes and implement systems. Working closely with the Demand Planning Manager they will also develop and maintain the Sales & Operations Planning process, ensuring it provides the appropriate forum for decision-making.

The Supply Planning Manager will work closely with vendors to ensure they have forward visibility and that supply risks are mitigated. They will also work with the Merchandise team to highlight supply constraints/excess inventory and develop mitigation strategies to maintain customer service levels and support the financial plan. The Supply Planning team is responsible for placing orders with vendors and actively managing inbound freight costs and on-time delivery. As the retail distribution network develops, the Supply Planning Manager will lead the transition to a hybrid replenishment model and have on-going responsibility for managing the distribution of product to retail stores.

We are seeking several experienced supply chain professionals to join our client’s highly regarded consulting team. Candidates may have some consulting experience but this is not a pre-requisite. We are seeking candidates with leading edge supply chain knowledge in at least one of the following areas:

  • Supply chain planning including demand & supply planning and the S&OP/IBP process
  • Logistics - particularly network optimisation, DC implementation, 3PL negotiations, warehouse layout and design, warehouse automation
