Reporting to the GM Logistics, the Strategic Customer Manager will be a skilled and enthusiastic business developer who is excited by the opportunity to identify and on-board new customers. They will be able to quickly understand the complexity of customers’ freight needs and build trusted relationships by delivering on their promises. Working collaboratively with colleagues and suppliers they will continually seek more efficient ways of operating to ensure revenue growth and profitability.
Candidates will need to have the following skills and attributes:
- Highly motivated to identify and convert revenue opportunities
- Comprehensive supply chain knowledge including the New Zealand road, rail and coastal shipping network
- Robust understanding of supply chain technology and passionate about how it can be used to provide competitive advantage
- Innovative and able to apply critical thinking skills to develop solutions
- An understanding of the dairy and wider agricultural sector preferred but not essential
- Track record of managing relationships with large strategic customers
- Able to think strategically, develop actionable plans and execute
- Commercially astute with a focus on profitability
- Ability to understand the complexities of customer supply chains quickly
- Attention to detail
