The Head of Growth reports to the Chief Executive and will be a key member of the New Zealand leadership team. They will lead the national Business Development team and be responsible for achieving sales targets. The current offering is a blend of well-developed consulting services and leading edge digital solutions. As well as overseeing growth of the client base they will also contribute to service development and to product innovation.

This role will also provide leadership to the Wellington practice with accountability for client delivery quality and profitability. They will lead a team of professionals and support their further development.

Candidates will be experienced consulting professionals who have delivered consulting projects for clients in the private and public sectors. They will have trusted advisor relationships at executive and board level and will be well connected in the government sector. They will understand the importance of building and maintaining profitable client relationships and have the ability and drive to identify and win new business.

Candidates should have the following skills and experience:

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver value to clients and build trusted advisor relationships
  • Track record of leading a successful business development team
  • Drive and tenacity to identify opportunities and grow the business
  • An active network in the government sector in Wellington
  • An authentic leader interested in supporting and developing team members
  • Commercially astute with a focus on profitability
  • Professional demeanour comfortable at executive and ministerial level

Our client is currently reinvigorating their asset management function, to meet broadening social objectives and a new corporate strategy. They are growing a Strategic Asset Management team to help the organisation improve long term property and infrastructure planning. They are seeking an asset management professional to help shape how the asset management function operates, producing a Strategic Asset Management Plan and National Infrastructure Plans to meet service needs.

The role would suit an experienced asset management professional, with an interest in making a positive difference to the way the organisation meets its objectives. The successful candidate will be an individual who:

  • Has excellent collaboration skills, experience in influencing teams and organisations to accept and implement well-founded changes in practice
  • Manages uncertainty and relishes the challenge of gaining clarity and direction when faced with ambiguity or minimal information
  • Understands the principles of Better Business Cases and can apply them in an asset management context
  • Can brief, coordinate and direct necessary supporting services for asset management such as data collection, lifecycle analysis, risk and economic assessments

As an experienced asset management practitioner, the ideal candidate will have experience in:

  • Strategic asset planning across complex vertical estates
  • Sound working knowledge of IPWEA IIMM best practice and guidance including developing strategic asset management plans
  • Developing robust, evidenced based and economically sound service level frameworks
  • Identifying data and information needs to support the asset management process
  • Developing strategic Asset Management Plans

Capital Projects – Manager Delivery Planning
This significant government organisation has a large and diverse asset portfolio. There is an active capital programme and they are seeing an experienced capital project planning professional to lead a team of senior project managers responsible for capital planning and for supporting project delivery.

  • Crystallise capital plan and operational demands into tangible projects
  • Hugely diverse construction and refurbishment projects
  • Work with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders

The Manager Project Planning owns and manages the capital plan. They will lead a team of Senior Project Managers and Senior Planner responsible for realising the Capital Plan by scoping, resourcing and optimising projects and programmes, so that they are primed for successful execution. The team will also provide backup to the project delivery team, providing technical advice and assisting with executing projects when required. A key to success will be the ability to collaborate across diverse stakeholders so that technical, operations and other interests are considered and optimised in this complex environment.

Candidates will need to have the following skills and attributes:

  • Proven experience delivering a variety of infrastructure projects including the design, procurement and construction phases
  • Leading edge knowledge of best practice programme and project planning
  • Commercial acumen including experience developing investment cases and managing input from external consultants
  • Confidence in navigating through complex regulatory and approval processes
  • Ability to identify risk and develop mitigation strategies
  • Excellent relationship building skills with the ability to bring together virtual teams to work in an innovative and customer focused environment
  • An authentic leader who works collaboratively
  • Tertiary qualification and project management qualification

Candidates could come from a variety of asset-intensive backgrounds. They will be proven problem solvers, have integrity, and have a strong service ethos.
